Mary Lynn McDermott, JD, LCSW
Mary Lynn obtained a JD from Albany Law School, a Master of Social Work from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Services and holds certifications in Psychoanalysis and Trauma Therapy from the National Institute of Psychotherapies. After law school, Mary Lynn joined Willkie Farr & Gallagher, as a litigation associate working on all phases of trial practice, including employment defense in Title VII cases, appearing before New York Civil and Federal courts as well as the New York Division of Human Rights and the EEOC. Mary Lynn later worked as a managing employment law consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers advising clients on best practices in the workplace and providing in-person training to corporate management and executive officers. Mary Lynn has provided post-graduate instruction to emerging clinicians in psychoanalytic assessment and diagnosis as well as ethics and mental health law. She has also provided legal services to underserved populations through St. Patrick’s Trocaire House on Long Island, as well as advocating for survivors of domestic violence seeking safe harbor.
Lissa Schaupp, JD, LCSW
Lissa holds a JD from Fordham Law School, a Master of Social Work from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work and earned her B.A. in Anthropology and Philosophy from Columbia University. Lisa later earned a certificate in psychoanalysis from the National Institute of Psychotherapies. Lissa began her legal career as a litigation associate at Holland & Knight, LLP where she counseled and defended clients in Federal Court, New York Civil Court, and arbitration in all phases of litigation from discovery through the appeals process. Lissa has also worked on multiple sides of the administrative law landscape. As a pro bono attorney for the City Bar Justice Center’s Legal Clinic for the Homeless, she represented clients at administrative fair hearings to contest denials and reductions of various public benefits. More recently, Lissa worked for the City of New York as an Administrative Law Judge conducting fair hearings and drafting decisions setting forth findings of fact and law on matters involving alleged enforcement agency violations across various NYC agencies.
